Mrs. Molly Wang

Director of Orchestras

Mrs. Molly Wang is coming into her sixth year of teaching orchestra in Lewisville ISD. In the past years, she has been named a finalist for First-Year Teacher of the Year, wrote a successful grant from the Lewisville Education Foundation for accompanying percussion equipment, and served as the Region 2 Orchestra Secretary. Presently, she serves as the Region 2 Orchestra Chair-Elect. Mrs. Wang received her Masters in Music Education from the University of Michigan and her Bachelors degree in Music Education from Ithaca College with summa cum laude distinctions.

Mrs. Wang is an avid life-long learner and musician. She performs regularly with the McKinney Philharmonic Orchestra. She also maintains a small private lessons studio. She is a member of the Texas Orchestra Directors Association and the Texas Music Educators Association. Her past affiliations include the honors societies Phi Kappa Phi, Pi Kappa Lambda, and the professional music fraternity Mu Phi Epsilon. 

 

Her favorite part about teaching middle school is interacting with the students, and watching them grow into well-rounded musicians and humans. She is passionate about music education and prioritizes an empathetic teaching practice. Her classroom is a welcoming environment for students to make mistakes and learn from them. 

 

Mrs. Wang is a proud adoptee from China, and former Jersey girl. Her hobbies include reading, eating hamburgers, doing puzzles, and watching TV. In addition, she loves being outdoors, running, and cycling. She and her husband are proud corgi parents. Previously she taught alongside Jenny McHenry at Forestwood Middle School.
